NB, deadline now extended to

19th March!

Spring is just around the corner!
Could you create a brilliant piece of art inspired by spring’s most beautiful flower, the daffodil?   Why not let your imagination run wild and create something amazing for our competition?  You could win a prize and your work might even be exhibited at our upcoming Daffodil Festival.

About the competition:

  • The competition is for children only.  Prizes will be awarded in three age groups: under 8s, 8-12 years old, and 13-16 years.

  • Entries must be artworks in paint, pastels, acrylics, pens, pencil or collage and should be A3 size or smaller.  Photographs will also be accepted. We’re sorry that we can’t accept 3D sculptures.

  • We’ll be awarding prizes for an overall winner, and for a winner and three runners-up in each age category.  And we’re inviting all of these winning artists to put their original artwork on show to the public at our Daffodil Festival between 21st March and 4th April.

How to enter:

  • Please email a jpg of your completed artwork or photograph to: friendsoftheswissgarden@outlook.com with the email subject heading ‘DAFFODIL COMPETITION’.  Don’t forget to tell us your name and age group and to include a telephone number.  If you’re a parent or guardian sending an entry on behalf of a child, please include both the child's name and your own name.

  • The closing date for submissions is midnight on 12th March.

  • If you’re one of our winners or runners-up, we’ll get in touch to ask you to send us your original artwork so that we can include it in our Daffodil Festival exhibition.  And photos of all the best artworks will also be displayed in an online exhibition on this website.
